Perhaps Wan can’t save DC, but he can stay somewhat in his lane and give us an effective underwater cursed object movie. Let’s also remember that Wan has been working on his underwater opus Aquaman 2 so he may have taken some of the skills he learned from that film and applied them here to help out director Bryce McGuire. It can be both exhilarating and terrifying.Īll the elements are here for a cursed object movie, from graveled disembodied voices to grabby invisible hands, what we have here, is a haunted house movie but this time, it’s a pool.
